oooh, so the theory they're testing is whether Ferrari are somehow syncing fuel delivery with the FIA measurement sampling frequency, to deliver some extra in between samples. Now FIA have said that's illegal, so now the others are watching to see if the Ferrari power is reduced tomorrow. If not, they can cross that conspiracy theory off their list and move on to the next one. Lovely!!

yes but at least they'll know they don't have a clue Presumably FIA have someone who knows what the ECU is supposed to be running and if they see a section of code the others don't have or they can't explain or is called "fuelsync" they'll focus on it and be able to unpick it eventually

and now with this TD it'd be a deliberate cheat and a huge risk for Ferrari to carry on with it. If this is what they're doing of course

Vettel looking pretty massive for today given Leclerc will be on an old PU and their advantage on the straights is still there. It's not like they're going to stop doing what they've found if another team guesses right at the trick. The question is only if the challenge comes and if the FiA know what to look for which is likely to be doubtful unless someone points a finger at exactly what it is. Should be a good race tomorrow.

I'm off to get winter tires put on, might actually miss qualy and have to fast forward through it. The cars go even faster that way.

Wasn't that's how it was supposed to have worked in Hungary too? But it didn't. With the kind of Race pace Merc has, it isn't given that the man starting on pole would win the race.

The usual routine/weekend strategy is to fit the most powerful engine before FP3, replacing engines between FP3 and Q isn't something they "like" to do.
With that engine 3 being the engine that was on the car this morning seems like a good bet.

the Spec 2 was used in 7 races though + probably all Fridays after Monza. So it's not really a fair comparison
