Absolutely! Fans are in it for the on-track battles not to watch drivers overtaking off the circuit and getting a few seconds penalty. I have always felt we were going down a slippery slope when the stewards stopped asking drivers to give back a position gained fraudulently.Hoffman900 wrote: ↑28 Mar 2021, 19:03If the track wasn’t a parking lot, Max would have lost a wing trying to get by.
They need to enforce a pass back not a time penalty.
Lewis himself said that he had be doing it regularly, so why stop now, when he was asked to remain in the limit by the team. Doesn't matter anyway, it was not being forced earlier, it was forced later. FIA at it again.NathanOlder wrote: ↑28 Mar 2021, 19:14Lewis didn't do it much. Cacti are a nice substitute!
Are you familiar with the concept of a hyperbole? Of course max did it more than literally once. Point is, lewis did it earlier and more consistently. They should never have dragged it past that points.Restomaniac wrote: ↑28 Mar 2021, 18:57So you admit your comment of ‘Max does it once’ was wrong then?DChemTech wrote: ↑28 Mar 2021, 18:52Hamilton was consistently wide at T4. That is just as much gaining an advantage. The stewards dont seem to get that still - gaining an advantage is not something that only happens during overtakes.Restomaniac wrote: ↑28 Mar 2021, 18:49You seem to be confused. Hamilton didn’t pass outside the track. Oh and BTW Verstappen started doing it as well when it became apparent that they were letting it slide so your comment of ‘Max does it once’ is completely flawed anyway.
Of course max started doing it when it was obvious stewards were not acting, but that situation should not have occurred in the first place.
Both were abusing T4 yet only 1 of them passed off the track. That was Verstappen.
And Lewis was going all out? They were all managing their tyres. When they had same compound of tyre, same fuel loads they were equal.siskue2005 wrote: ↑28 Mar 2021, 19:08Nope, Max was saying he was managing his pace in first stintgrubschumi13 wrote: ↑28 Mar 2021, 19:05Opening stint proves me right. They are very close.El Scorchio wrote: ↑28 Mar 2021, 19:00
The cars aren’t very, very close mate. The Red Bull is clearly faster. Nice try (again) though.
But why did RBR let Lewis undercut them?
Thats when the race changed; they should have pitted first and protected their track position and none of this would have happened
Which isn’t a problem as long as you then don’t bitch that your team mate isn’t in the fight.dans79 wrote: ↑28 Mar 2021, 19:13Some people just can't own up to the obvious fact that Red Bull 100% designs the car towards Max's preferences.Restomaniac wrote: ↑28 Mar 2021, 19:05I would generally agree but it’s now 3 drivers. 1 who was quick then suddenly wasn't and then when put in another car is smashing it, 1 who looked quick and then suddenly didn’t and 1 with bags of experience. Surely as some point you have to ask why?JordanMugen wrote: ↑28 Mar 2021, 19:02
Strongly disagree. It is up to the second driver to copy the lead driver's data traces. Same for Vettel at Ferrari, same for Verstappen senior at Benetton et al.
Please, stop defending Hamilton as if he is some angel. When he was told to stop he asked "why I've been doing it all race."NathanOlder wrote: ↑28 Mar 2021, 19:14Lewis didn't do it much. I think I saw 1 replay of it. please show us all these examples
I saw this fight coming. If Lewis can hold off Rosberg on faster and fresher tyres he can manhandle Verstappen.El Scorchio wrote: ↑28 Mar 2021, 18:41That was a majestic drive from Hamilton. Held off Verstappen in a superior red bull.
Bitter much?Artur Craft wrote: ↑28 Mar 2021, 18:54Goodness, the state of F1 is one that people claim that, a driver that spent half the race off the track, to be the best of the GPgodlameroso wrote: ↑28 Mar 2021, 18:50Hamilton driver of the day, no question. Verstappen will get them in Imola. Perez looked good.
Please don't put MotoGP spoilers in an F1 race thread. Not cool.
