Coulthard unhappy with Michelins

David Coulthard experienced one of the worst weekends of his season in Brazil, culminating in a first lap tangle with the Williams drivers Mark Webber and Antonio Pizzonia that resulted in an early retirement for Red Bull driver Coulthard. The scot was 10 places after team mate Klien on the start grid, but the team discovered an issue with the set of tyres he had on the car. The 34-year-old went into the race knowing that it would be a struggle.

David Coulthard "It was a bit of a disappointing weekend all in from my side.We had uncertainty on the batch of tyres that we had for qualifying, and Ralf (Schumacher) went through the same thing. There was some debate as to whether we would be able to change to our P4 [Saturday practice] set of tyres rather than use the qualifying set. We just needed a letter from Michelin to say they had some doubt over the batch we had, which they were uncomfortable to do. So we stuck with the tyres. At the start, I got sandwiched between the two Williams. At first, I thought Antonio was moving over from right to left but, when I watched the replay, Mark is moving most. He goes from the inside of the circuit out towards the outside - and, of course, I'm in between the two of them."
