V8 Supercar team interested in Villeneuve
1997 Formula One Champion Jacques Villeneuve could be on the starting grid during the Australian Grand Prix weekend in March as driver in the V8 supercars series. Paul Morris, who owns the Supercheap Auto Racing Team, is keen to put the Canadian in one of his cars for the upcoming season.
Morris declared to the Australian newspaper 'The Herald Sun': "This is real. Absolutely. He is pretty keen to do it.
"It would be the full season. Not just one race. We would have to write about $2 million in sponsorship so we could run the car and pay him to drive."
Currently Villeneuve is competing in the Speedcar Series.
