Doornbos at Barcelona

The new Ice Age is upon us. That can be the only explanation for the fact that so much Barcelona testing this winter has been wiped out by cold weather. Robert Doornbos was due to put in some big mileage in the car today, but early morning frost at the Circuit de Catalunya put paid to that.

Best time: 1: 18.450
Circuit length: 4.627km

"We lost track time, but it did not really affect our programme, as putting distance on the car was more of a priority than development today," said Chief Test Engineer, Ian Morgan. Although temperatures went up a bit, the next hitch came courtesy of more rain. "As we have done quite a bit of running in the wet already, we decided it was not really worth going out," added Morgan. "Although we did do a couple of laps at the end of the day, just to check some new software."

No great improvement in the weather is expected for tomorrow, when David Coulthard and Christian Klien will both be on track in the actual cars they will race in Bahrain on 12 March.
