Consistent pace for McLaren's Friday
Team McLaren Mercedes drivers Kimi Raikkonen and Pedro de la Rosa set the ninth and 11th fastest times respectively in the second practice session for this weekend's Brazilian Grand Prix. The team performed well during simulated race runs in the exceptionally elaborate Friday running.
Kimi completed a total of eight laps with a fastest time of 1:13.803 whilst Pedro's time of 1:13.926 was the fastest of the 16 laps he completed. The morning session saw Kimi set the fastest time with his lap of 1:13.764 and Pedro was fifth fastest with a time of 1:14.237.
Kimi Raikkonen"We made some progress on our set up work and tyre evaluation, however we still have a little work to do tomorrow, but everything looks fine so far."
Pedro De La Rosa"Basically we finished the planned programme for today, and with my fresh engine I could do more laps than usual on a Friday. This gave us some extra information on the tyres. I am happy with the progress that we made today."
Ron Dennis"A good and solid performance. So far so good."
Norbert Haug"We achieved good and consistent times under simulated race conditions during today's free practice. Everything went okay."
