Under sunny skies, the qualifying session at Bahrain kicked off. During the first heat, Adrian Sutil, Christijan Albers, David Coulthard, Scott Speed, Tonio Liuzzi and Takuma Sato were eliminated. Felipe Massa was the one setting the fastest lap in Q1.
