Easier to take note of my performances - Heidfeld

Over the course of the season, the BMW Sauber F1 Team has so far exceeded its own expectations. Nick Heidfeld is an important factor when it comes to naming the reasons for the success. However, following three impeccable race performances, he is keeping both feet firmly on the ground.

Nick Heidfeld has already achieved three fourth places in 2007, earning him fifth position in the Drivers' Championship. For him, these results are merely the outcome of the good development work during the winter. "My performances are comparable to the last few years," says the German. "With this car, however, it is easier to take note of my performances."

According to Nick, further reasons for the improved performance compared to last year are excellent teamwork and the growing experience of the team: Nick himself explains that he is now able to channel his energy more effectively and to "concentrate on specific driving matters".

Despite the current success, the 29-year-old remains realistic and would be happy if he could compete on this high level for the rest of the season: "Obviously, we are continuously striving to improve, but that would already be a success".
