Red Bull testing round-up
In a fit of leniency, race drivers Coulthard and Klien were told they could put their feet up this week, so Robert Doornbos did the bulk of the work at this two day test in the South of France. Today, the final day, the team ran an extra car and borrowed Tonio Liuzzi off Scuderia Toro Rosso to sit behind the wheel.
On Wednesday, Robert's running was curtailed by a gearbox software problem. Today went much better. "Our programme centred on European GP tyre choice, testing of new aero and chassis parts and durability runs," said Chief Test Engineer, Ian Morgan. "Robert gave new chassis 05 its first shakedown today, while Tonio concentrated on longer runs to evaluate tyre durability. It's been a good test, as we got a lot of miles under our belt, went through our entire planned programme and found some performance."
The team resumes testing at Barcelona on 11 April, when the two race drivers will be on track for three days.
